North Shore Beach Maternity Session | Burlington, MA Maternity Photographer

As I started to write this post about my recent maternity session for Katie (my cousin in law, neighbor and friend), I realized something pretty big. Many of my photography "firsts" have been thanks to Katie and her family.

Way before I was a professional photographer, I got a call from Katie's sister to do their family photos. What? Family photos? But I'm not a professional! We want you to do it, she said. Really? Well, ok, I'll do it. So with the help of some new equipment and lots of practice, I did my first official family session.

A few year later, I got a call from Katie and her mom to do wedding photos for Katie and her soon to be husband. What, are you crazy?? I don't do weddings!! But we want you to do it, they said. So with the help of even more new equipment, lots of learning, and an encouraging friend who flew in from MN to help me, I did my first wedding. Fast forward a couple of years. The happy couple are now my very fun neighbors who are expecting their first baby in just two weeks and two days (but who is counting). And so we have another first....maternity photos!

I have always been envious of some amazing north shore photographers who get to shoot on the beach all the time. So what better time to give it a shot than with this maternity session! It was a gorgeous summer evening...perfect for the beach. (I could get used to this!) Shooting on the beach is not easy and presents a whole new set of challenges, but I was once again forced to step out of my comfort zone and try something new! Many thanks to you, Katie, and your amazing family for pushing me to develop my skills, for being patient with me, and for giving me new excuses to buy new equipment!!  : )

Next up...birthing photos? Well, maybe just newborn!

Burlington, MA Photographer | High School Seniors | Class of 2015

I've mentioned in previous social media posts that the Class of 2015 at Burlington High School is very special to me. I have known many of these kids since they started kindergarten (and some even earlier) and I love that I am able to shoot their senior portraits. This session took place with three special seniors....a set of twins and a long time friend. It was so much fun for me because they all know me pretty well and they were able to just be themselves. It made for a few laughs...and some great pictures!

Thanks for putting up with me while I tried out a new location...it was just as good as I hoped!

Burlington, MA Photographer | Styled Senior Session

I love the summer. I love photographing seniors and I love being outdoors. That's why I enjoy my senior sessions so much. I get to hang outside in beautiful places and have fun with some really amazing people. Yes, this is my job. (There's MUCH more to my job than this, but that's a post for another day!)

Burlington, MA High School Senior. Styled by Rambling House, Nashua, NH

This featured senior session is special for a few reasons. First, it was with a great girl who I have known for since she was in elementary school. She's fun, has a great smile and an amazingly positive attitude. And she has some pretty great friends. I've learned from her that these things can be a rather powerful combination and can help get you through some rough times. I look at these pictures and they make me smile.  : )

This session was also a lot of fun because I had the help of three very creative ladies from Rambling House who styled the session for us. They put together an adorable retro picnic complete with vintage props and books, hand-made banners, fresh fruit, Parisian bread and old fashioned soda pop! This was all set on a gorgeous landscape complete with fruit trees, rambling fields, rustic barns and a few unexpected guests (see photos)! Of course, the beautiful make-up for this senior was done by Flawless Face & Body

I will be offering a limited number of individualized, styled senior sessions with Rambling House. Contact me if you are interested!

Burlington, MA High School Seniors

Welcome to my new blogsite. A change in my website also means a change in my blog site. I am not sure that I am able to retrieve my blog posts from my old website so I will just have to start over.

It's a perfect time to make this transition. The Class of 2014 has graduated and I have already starting shooting the Class of 2015! This is a very special group of kids for me and and I am excited to be able to share in this special time with them.

I am thrilled to be working again this year with Kristina of Flawless Face & Body for make-up. Kristina provided make-up services for many of my senior girls last year and her work is stunning! This year I will also be working with the ladies from Rambling House Events of Nashua who will help me create one-of-a-kind styled shoots. This specialty senior session includes make-up and hair services and a completely styled set designed by Rambling House. A styled shoot will include a unique location and creative props that are aligned to your interests. Our first styled shoot will take place this week so stay tuned for a sneak peak!

If you would like to schedule your senior session with me, please contact me and we will work the details!
